Mother
by Trista

Everyone has that certain place
where mothers worn you not to play
but it looks so fun
the dirt mounds that seem 30 feet high
tunnels galour
and the stream behind the mounds
you listen to your mother, cause thats what your taught
the reason your told to stay away, is unknown
you were just told its "dangerous"
(kid) "But Mrs. Johnson lets Billy and Liz play there"
(mom) "thats because she's never home to stop them"
so you think about how much fun you'd have
watching the other kids play
then you decide to just go anyway
your mother will never know
taking your bike and riding it down the hills
its fun, its not dangerous
your mother notices your coming home a little dirty lately
"your not playing where its dangerous honey are you?"
you lie and tell her "no" and you make up a place where you were, you dont want to worry her
thats one day,
turns into every day
that you sneak out to have fun
Billy and Liz have been gone for a while
but its ok cause you have the hill to yourself
you flip down the hill, off your bike
and land into a ditch
a deep dark ditch
you never thought this could happen to you
theres no one here to save you
mother doesnt even know your here, you lied to her
so your stuck there for days screaming for help
but no one comes
havent eaten for days and too scared to sleep
eventually someone comes
your mother, its her last place to look
cause she believed your lies
she believed you were at Jill's
she believed you were at the park
sees you in the bottom of the hole
blaims herself for your mistake
its just a little to late
its over, your life is over
mothers always right
its too bad you realize this
when its a little too late.
