Life in a Fish Bowl (by JAH)

Sweet freedom's watch
Where glass permits
No view. "Let's see
What the world holds
Beyond a fluid circle-
What could it hold?"
To keep watch over all and
Then: "Where
Are you? Show your face!"
And when we do
Pressed up against the
Glass, the guard does
Not see. Through the
Glass we see him
Turn, his wafting
Tail making us blink.
He swims away to
Patrol the other sides
Of his domain, doomed
Forever to pass in
Circles around our
Glass eyes.
