We Could Make a Mile (by Samson Gregory)

You and I: Me and You.

He, and she. We, yes, we

Could make a mile out of

Silly string and whoopie cushions,
[pillow fights, fast food, fine dining, road trips]
Just our laughter in the night.

A nudge, nuzzle, nestle together,
[Making love, real love, deep love, our love]
A kiss on the cheek, the morning sun in your

Hair, your eyes like finding the

Needle in the proverbial haystack.
[I love you, I love you, I love love love you]

You make me a man. Not baseball, not
Cars, movies, beer, burgers, booty, family,
Friends, teenaged boasts after backseat rustlings.

You
Make
Me

Smile, laugh, cry, sweat, worry. You make me
Love, Love, You make me, love.
We could make a mile
If we really wanted to.
