The Swallowing Tree
|
||||
Go through the forest
Past the corpses of the dying wolves.
Walk over the grey tree trunks
And try not to scratch your legs
Because you will bleed a lot, I know.
If you go through the forest,
You will find an open clearing
With one large tree in the middle.
This is the tree I told you about,
This is the swallowing tree.
It eats little children and crunches
On their bones. Their screams are locked
In infinity forever and ever. Their eyes are smashed
And baked into pies, and their tongues are used
As watches in the night.
The swallowing tree will kill you, too.
It killed my friends, I saw it eat them up
As I hid behind these leaves.
It is the swallowing tree
And it's very, very, very hungry.
