Torn Away (by Sara Steinberg)

As I look into the deep, dark sea
The pool of apathy tears at my soul
Torn from within by the hand of a friend
I see broken thoughts and dreams float by

To gather them once again
Would awaken a long since dormant hope
I reach down to rescue my life
So close, but yet too far to grasp

A warm gentle wind passes along
A reminder of a passion for life
To give up the struggle would make them all smile
So I fight for what's mine, my soul and my mind
