Aspirition's Evil (by John Wedlake)

For it is the vice of plainess
that bounds us to honorable tasks,
yet the curse of greatness
unveils our evil masks.

Ambition and pride stand as devilish traits
that alone shall bring upon death,
but kindness, goodness, and sympathy
will give to thee lively breath.

So be not fooled by the Tempter's lies
which promise a kingly life,
for we all aspire to be something great
yet aspirition breeds years of strife.
