Insanity Poem to Hum While Walking (by Christina Kay Garza)

Oh where Oh where do I wander now
for my angels are gone and my wings are clipped?
My sign says that I am impatient
(but most of us are)
so how long must I do jumping-jacks on this sandy corner?
I could scream a murder ring-ting-a-ling
across every stop sign in America of heedless, unconscious pedestrians
just waiting to get cremated by the next eighteen-wheeler
whose stainless-steel smile bites with the force of God--
but tell me first,
who gives a damn about the people who get lost
between the cracks in the sidewalk
unable to escape the labyrinth of chewing gum-rocks, pebbles,
and worthless lottery tickets?
Not I, Sweetie-Pie!
I will not even open my mouth that shouldn't smile
but still does rebelliously;
instead I will sleep hapless dreams about glitter toenail polish,
cotton toilet paper and I'll even snore,
no pride tonight...
Lie awake all you sinners!
Hum with me!

Oh where Oh where has my sanity gone?
Oh where Oh where can He be?
