The heat of the night (by Shasta M)

I walked along the street.
I looked into your eyes.
I knew that we would meet.
A part inside me died.
There was a time before
when I would not have cared.
But time has took it's toll.
And we have gone nowhere.
YOur heart is cold as stone.
You treat me like a pet.
You sit upon your throne.
I wish we'd never met.
How many times before
did you show me you didn't care?
I tried to talk to you
but your mind just wasn't there.
Now we have gone out ways
out love has gone astray
my life has come apart
and someday you will pay
