My heart is breaking.
How could this be?
I was hoping you'd wait,
but there was no guarantee.
I loved you so much.
Couldn't you see?
I guess it's my fault
for going away.
Yet after all this time,
I'm not sure what to say.
I wish I could change things
to how they were before.
But I must live in the present,
and the past can be no more.
I've honestly tried to forget
your laughter and your smile.
Yet I can never block it out.
Not even for a while.
I'll always remember
the love and the tears.
The talks we've had
of our hopes and our fears
we've shared so much
now look where wer are
to think that we could get this far
i must go on
there's nothing else i can do
but i will always remember
the gift that is you
